Personal connections

I just wanted to say that I really have enjoyed my personal blog for the past little while. And Bloglovin. I follow all my friends`personal blogs on there. It`s nice because I get to see what`s going on during their lives throughout the week or month or whatever.

Im notorious for never replying to texts. I will forget about a conversation midway through because my attention span is that of a housefly. Food distracts me a lot as well. So it`s nice to be able to log on and `catch up`with your friends. LOL. Is it bad that I am replacing my human contact and and even texting, which is bad enough for being impersonal, with reading a blog? I dont know. I suppose it might make me believe that I don't have to make the effort IRL anymore.

I feel like it makes it easier. For me. I just have so many things on the go, all the time. Wouldn't it feel worse if someone sent me a text and never replied, or I sent them a text and forgot about the conversation?
I want to have time to spend with friends, and I dont want to lose any - that's for sure. But how many can you possibly fit in during the week?

I think blogs help "take up slack". You know - when you hang out with someone you haven't seen or talked to in a while? And it can be awkward because you dont know what to talk about and you feel kind of guilty because, maybe, if you had paid them more attention - you would have something to say.. Also, you dont know what to share about your own life because you don't know what's appropriate anymore. And I feel like this happens and feels 10x worse when it's someone you used to be very close to.

The answer?
PERSONAL BLOG.

I know what's going on with you, I am motivated to keep a genuine interest in your life. I WANT TO KNOW WHAT'S UP. And then, when I am finished being a class-A douchebag and finally have time to hang out - I can talk about stuff with you and I feel like we haven't skipped a beat.
